2013 Photos
After such a wet fall in 2012, we were very relieved to see the nice weather that we had this last fall. Not that Cordova was without it’s usual rainfall and storms, but we did have spells of very nice weather. September started off very nice and Todd Shallbetter and Larry Lockrem each connected on 54″ bull moose. Todd also missed out on a very good opportunity at a beautiful wolf when his guide spooked it prematurely. His guide was Dennis, by the way. The rain then started and it flooded out one of our camps, and pushed the brown bears up onto the high ground. We switched to Mountain Goat hunting on September 13 and had a break with lots of sunshine and lots of Mountain Goats! We were 100% on all of our mountain goat hunters, taking 2 potential B&C contenders. Both the goats and bears seem to be doing very well after the harsh winters of 2011 and 2012.
I also enclosed a picture of Hunter Richardson, the son of one of our guides, Zach. Hunter shot his first deer at 8 years old, and it was such a pleasure to see a young man so excited about hunting. The same is true for Coleman Shallbetter who is the son of long time friend, Todd. I was fortunate to be with Coleman and Todd in Colorado when Todd shot a magnificent bull elk, and it was a very memorable experience. It is so important to involve our kids in the great outdoors, and both of these fine young men will be the torch bearers of the future!
With our present economy, people really seem to be hanging on to their money, and bookings are scarce. Our hunts are as they have always been, high quality and personalized. We will not cut corners to increase the bottom line, and promise to give the same hard work and satisfaction we always have. Check out the recently remodeled web page, and please provide us with feedback on what you think.
